British Council shows us that just 5% of brazilians can communicate in #English whereas only 1% of our people are fluent. Undoubtedly we could being talk about Spanish in geopolitical terms. However, there is no mistaking that English is the language to connect you Worldwide.
I must to confess that I was shocked when I first saw these numbers which makes me think of many other issues hidden behind them, such as educations conditions, infrastructure, #money, time, access, etc.
As I've sharing here, my #target has been black women which almost all of them have experienced real trauma in their journey of learning. Some of my students put in a lot of effort on this because it is more than a silly challange. #LeaningEnglish has become their proof of achieving their main goals like traveling or getting a better #job.
Likewise, I would say that being discouraged or even frustrated is completely normal because it's all about being outside the box and I promise it's okay to feel that way.
Nevertheless, I'd like to point out a few things that, at least as a #teacher, I feel like I'm losing a soldier when they just give up on their improvement.
Listen to me, learning requires patience which has a huge difference from being lazy. We know #blackwomen don't have time to be lazy because world is always demanding something from us.
In summation, whether is you situation or not, carefully review why are you quitting on you? Are you sure there are any other priorities besides your own growth?
Go forward, make yourself #proud.
